Aminda “Mindy”‘ Marqués Gonzalez was named executive editor of the Miami Herald on Tuesday.

Marqués Gonzalez, 46, will replace Anders Gyllenhaal, 59, who is being promoted to vice president for news and Washington editor for The Herald’s parent company, McClatchy. The changes are effective Monday.

Mark Russell named Orlando Sentinel editor

Mark Russell, print news manager of the Orlando Sentinel and FSNE board member, has been named editor of the paper. Russell, 48, takes the position immediately, succeeding Charlotte Hall, who retired on Oct. 1.
