Miami Herald: Gov. Scott’s public records chief leaving to run for Martin County clerk
Carolyn Timmann, the head of Gov. Rick Scott’s very busy Office of Open Government, is leaving to run for clerk of Martin Circuit Court. Timmann has had many a fire, literally and figuratively, to handle during her year in Scott’s administration. (She was the first to smell smoke from the cigar-sparked trash can fire in Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll’s office. The investigation report shows Timmann picked up the flaming can, ran it into the women’s restroom and doused it with water from a flower vase.)
