Pensacola Beach resident files ethics complaint

Pensacola Beach resident Charlie Rotenberry is filing an ethics complaint today with the state Commission on Ethics against the Santa Rosa Island Authority board and its Chairman Dave Pavlock.

Rotenberry is citing that the board members, with the exception of Thomas Campanella, violated the Florida Sunshine Law during the Feb. 8 board meeting.

He claims that board members were observed having private conversations with each other and former members of a master land plan steering committee during the public hearing on the Pensacola Beach master plan.

He claims those meeting during a 10-minute break turned a 3-3 vote into a 5-1 vote in favor of a plan that calls for building an elevated road on Pensacola Beach.

We’re following this story and will have more details in Wednesday’s Pensacola News Journal.
